Flowers for Sale at the Flower Shop

Annie’s Ink-Lings

Hello Stampers,

I know you are going to love the card I have for you today, especially if you like pretty, adorable, and colorful.  Well, anyway that is how it affects me, being a flower gardener.  The past several days I have not been able to work outside in my flowers beds very often due to a huge forest fire not too far north of where I live.  We are living under smoky skies.  I am constantly praying that the firefighters will have the fire under control soon and for their safety.  Since I am cooped up indoors, I've resorted to making card stock flowers.   And having a really fun time!  Take a look and enjoy - directions follow the pictures.

Card Size:  Top Folded - 5 ½” x 4 ¼”

Card Stock:

            White
            One – 5 ½” x 8 ½” panel.  Fold in half for card base.
            Scraps to stamp flowers on

            Blue
One ¾” x 5 ½ “ strip for awning trim.  Cut strip then punch with the Fiskars scalloped punch.
One 1/8” x 5 ½” strip for bottom of card
One  1 ½” x 5” panel for die cutting sentiment.  Die cut the Happy Birthday sentiment, using
Memory Box Happy Birthday Garland #98975.

            Green
One ¾” x 5 ½” strip for bottom of card

            Patterned Card Stock
1 – 5 ½” x 21/2” strip of patterned card stock.  Cut panel then score at ½” and 2” and crease
on score lines.  Make a Valley Fold and a Mountain Fold.

Media:

            PrismaColor Pencils
            Black Ink Pad

Directions:

1.         Take the patterned piece of card stock and put adhesive on the ½” segment next to the valley fold and attach, lining it up with the folded edge of the card base.  This creates the cute little awning.

2.         Take the blue scalloped strip and adhere it on the backside of the awning, with just the scallops showing.

3.         Center and adhere the birthday die cut to the awning.  For another look, you may glue the birthday sentiment over the flower baskets.

4.         Put foam tape on the back of the ¾” green strip and adhere to the bottom of the front of the card.  This will be your storefront.

5.         Glue the 1/8” blue strip at the top of the green strip.

6.         Stamp, color, and fussy cut flowers.  I cut off the basket hanging ropes.  I used Stampin’ Up “Hanging Garden” stamp set #146239.

7.         Use foam tape to adhere the flower baskets as though they were sitting on top of the storefront
panel at the bottom of the card.

8.         Stamp sentiment inside card.  I used My Sentiments Exactly #0298 “Wishing you days that flower with happiness!”

I hope you will enjoy making this card or that it will inspire you to make your own version.

Blessings,
Annie

Kitty Sympathy Card

Annie’s Ink-Lings

Hello again friends,

A couple of days ago, a friend's kitty passed away.  They had 14 years of wonderful companionship, so she has really good memories of them living life together.  Since I've had two cats pass on to kitty heaven, I can relate to her loss and feeling like she is left with a big hole in her life.  Sharing her sadness and wanting to send comforting thoughts, I made this sympathy card for her.

I computer generated this verse for inside:

Our animal friends
teach us more than we could
have expected and love us
more than we could
have hoped . . .

. . . that’s why we miss
them more than we could
have imagined.

Card Directions:
The card base is a very pale lavender card stock.  I generated a sentiment on a sheet of white card stock, then cut it to make a panel to layer onto the card base.  The top of the panel has rounded corners.  For the bottom of the panel I die cut a decorative border using a border die from Spellbinders Card Creator dies called A2 Scalloped Borders One, S5-182.  For the decorative strip down the left side, I used a die from Elizabeth Craft Designs, Ribbons & Jewels, #1070.  The cat die is from Impressions Obsession DIE083-K.  The panel was attached to the card base using mounting tape.  A tiny punched heart for the kitty was the finishing touch.

Thank you for checking in today.

Blessings,
Annie
