A Tiny Turtle Get Well

Annie’s Ink-Lings

Here I am with another get well card.  A friend had a fall which resulted in a really bad sprained ankle.  I immediately thought of making a card for her using the turtle from the Back on Your Feet Stampin' Up stamp set.  That set seems to be my go-to set lately.  Proverbs 17:22 tells us, "A cheerful heart is good medicine, . . ."  I think a time like this calls for some cheering up and a good chuckle.

For the inside, I used a sentiment from the same stamp set, "Hope you're back on your feet soon."  The sweet turtle was colored with Stampin' Up Stampin & Blends, Dark and Light Soft Sea Foam.  The other two stamp designs are from Paper Parachute and probably are not around any more.  I know the design is a "little different" for a turtle card, but, hey, we've got to get out of the box once and a while.

I cut a piece of lavender vellum paper 5 1/2" x 7 1/4", scored it at  4 1/4", then folded it around the card base with the shorter side on the front of the card.  Just a little something to give more eye appeal.

This is Not Good! Get Well Card

Annie’s Ink-Lings

A few days ago, my pastor tore his Achilles Tendon, now in great pain, with possibly six weeks for recovery.  Naturally, I wanted to make a get well card for him with maybe a little something to give him a chuckle.  What better stamp set to use than Stampin' Up's Back On Your Feet.  Every time I look at that set, it makes me laugh.  I love the postures of those darling creatures and the sentiments are perfect for their posturing.  For my pasture's injury situation, I decided to use the giraffe.  Here I am laughing again!  See what you think.

With the giraffe having a knot in it's neck, the perfect sentiment was "This is knot good."  I know he'll get a kick out of it, so I can hardly wait to give it to him.

February Challenge - Use 3 or More New Supplies

It's a good thing there is an extra day this month or I wouldn't have gotten this posted on the blog in time.  The cards were finished a couple of weeks ago but just no time to post.  I was able to use 9 new products this month -- whoo hoo!  The first card was done using a crayon resist technique.  I really love the die from the Fleur De Lis Pendants set from Spellbinders.    Inside, the sentiment says:
"The chair to sit in while thinking about art."

The sentiment for this card is
"Get comfy, rest and get better."

There isn't a card sample to go with the "Love" stamp shown above.  I forgot to take a picture before I sent out the card.  Oops!

Well, two months down, and ten to go and I'm lovin' it.  Can't wait to see what will be used in March.  So until next time, "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing."  Rom.15:13
