Mad 4 Plaid Masculine Cards

Annie’s Ink-Lings

Hello Paper Crafters,

A while back I purchased a 6x6 paper pad called Delightful & Tailored Plaid,"  thinking it would be great for masculine cards.  Since I was in need of a couple of masculine birthday cards, today the paper pad finally got used.  It was a bit difficult to choose which two card stock sheets to use because there is such an array of beautiful plaid color combinations in the pad.  These are the two that I finally selected.

This is a plain, simple, and quick design, but for a guy I really like it.

The card base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches.  I first layered the based with a piece of solid color card stock measuring 4 x 5 1/4 inches.  The top layer of plaid card stock is 3 7/8 x 5 1/4 inches.

The Happy Birthday to You sentiment is a die from Sizzix.  The Quail family is a die from Cheery Lynn Designs called Birds of Earth and Sky."

I hope you like the cards and they gave your creativeness a boost!

Blessings,
Annie

My God Starts with a Big "G"

Annie’s Ink-Lings

Good afternoon all you lovely people!

Just came in from planting some more perennial flowers.  They are blooming now and will for the rest of the summer.  And wonders of wonders, they will come back and bloom again next year, and the next year, and the - well you get the idea.  It reminds me of how God's written word blooms over and over again in my heart.  Today I'm sharing with you an illustration I did on Exodus 20:2-4, verses from the Ten Commandments.

This illustration was done Sunday afternoon after I had spent some time reflecting on the morning sermon and the sermon from the Sunday before.  Exodus 20:2-3: I am the Lord your God . . . you shall have no other god but me; and Exodus 20:4: You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind . . . .  NLT

My pastor explained that we should have only one God in our life that starts with a capital "G," and there is only one capital "G" God.  All other gods start with a little "g" and they are otherwise known as idols.  So what constitutes an idol?  Martin Luther considered idols to be anything on which your heart relies and depends, other than God.  We should have none of the little "g" gods in our life.  My meditation ended with giving myself an idol check-up to see what I needed to tear down and throw out of my life.  I only want the one and only God that starts with a big "G!"

I pray that my illustration is meaningful to you.

 Blessings,

Annie

The Impossible Card

Annie’s Ink-Lings

Hello again,

I've just had a delightful time making the card that is all the rage right now.  Yes, the Impossible Card!  It turns out that it is not so impossible after all, and actually is very easy and quick to make.  To make it even more easy for you, I've included a template with all the measurements.  Just your regular supplies and tools are needed with one exception.  I used the Stampin' Up bow maker punch, which makes the cutest bow ever.  Here are two examples to show you.

Wishing you a fun paper crafting day!
Blessings,
Annie

Z Fold Card with Butterflies

Welcome to my blog!
Sitting here at my desk, the view out the window is one of grey cloudy skies, slushy streets, and snow plow humps of snow mixed with sand.  Not a pretty sight by any means.  Inside my head I'm wondering about how much longer will it be until we see some signs of approaching spring.  Maybe spring is in my head because I've been making a few butterfly cards lately.  I just finished up a simple card using the Z fold.  It's cheery and colorful and made me feel good all over.  Maybe it will do the same for you.

Annie’s Ink-Lings

Hi there friends,

With Memorial Day just past and Independence Day coming up in July, I'm thinking I must be in a patriot frame of mind, because this is what I did in my bible illustrating today, and it wasn't my original plan. Psalm 33:12.  Praying that our country is still a nation blessed by our God and that He hasn't given up on us. Used PrismaColor pencils for coloring. Used a Tim Holtz layering stencil  "Rays" for background and lightly sponged with blue ink. Used a stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs for the image. The little red star is covering up an ink smear.  I don't usually cover the scripture.

Hope you are having a great Monday!

Blessings,
Ann
