Annie’s Ink-Lings

I really had fun making this card for my hubby for Father's Day.  It is to him from our furry child, KoKo.  There's a funny story behind it, too.  KoKo likes to lay on his shoulder while he's reclining in his chair watching TV.  When KoKo decides to get down, she turns around and her little fanny is in his face.  Every single time!  Of course, it brings smiles and laughter.

Not having an appropriate stamp for my idea, I searched on line in clipart for something to use and found the perfect image of a man in a recliner.  The kitty stamp came from a set called "Oh My Whiskers" by Honey Bee Stamps. The stamp set has matching dies.  To make the kitty stand out, I used foam tape to attach her in place. I used PrismaColor pencils to color the kitty, attempting to make it really look like KoKo.   Maroon is my hubby's favorite color, so that's what I chose in a masculine plaid design.  I used Fiskar's Snub punch on all the corners.  I'm so glad to have it in my tool supplies.

The sentiments on the front and inside of the card were computer generated.

I can hardly wait to see hubby's face when he opens this card.  Priceless!

Thank you for coming to

Bible Illustrating and Journaling - Proverbs 3:5

Annie’s Ink-Lings

Today I'm sharing another scripture illustration page and the journaling that I made for my notebook.  It is always exciting and meaningful to me to be able to make and color a picture that illustrates a bible verse.  I hope it will be meaningful to you, also.

My journaling:

Proverbs 3:5-6

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.”

1) First of all, we must “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart.” This means there must be a total commitment to the Lord, trusting that He alone can lead and guide us through our lives. God is appealing to the believer to fully surrender their whole being to Him.  If God has our heart, He has all of us…body, soul, and spirit.

2) Secondly, we are told “lean not unto thine own understanding,” which means we must “DISTRUST ourselves.” Our hearts cannot be trusted to direct our steps, for they often deceive us.

3) And lastly, God tells us, “In all thy ways acknowledge Him.” Every decision we make, big or small, must be committed to Him. In doing so, we are acknowledging the Lordship of Christ and that He knows what’s best for us. We must abandon our own wills and humbly pray, “Thy will be done, O Lord.”

If these three conditions are met, GOD WILL DIRECT OUR PATHS! He may guide us by Scripture, or by the counsel of godly brethren, or by an inner peace of the Holy Spirit, or by clear and unmistakable circumstances. Or, He may choose to use a combination of these things. Whatever the case, He will make it clear to us which way we should go and we will be blessed as we follow His leading.

Blessings to you,
Annie

A Tiny Turtle Get Well

Annie’s Ink-Lings

Here I am with another get well card.  A friend had a fall which resulted in a really bad sprained ankle.  I immediately thought of making a card for her using the turtle from the Back on Your Feet Stampin' Up stamp set.  That set seems to be my go-to set lately.  Proverbs 17:22 tells us, "A cheerful heart is good medicine, . . ."  I think a time like this calls for some cheering up and a good chuckle.

For the inside, I used a sentiment from the same stamp set, "Hope you're back on your feet soon."  The sweet turtle was colored with Stampin' Up Stampin & Blends, Dark and Light Soft Sea Foam.  The other two stamp designs are from Paper Parachute and probably are not around any more.  I know the design is a "little different" for a turtle card, but, hey, we've got to get out of the box once and a while.

I cut a piece of lavender vellum paper 5 1/2" x 7 1/4", scored it at  4 1/4", then folded it around the card base with the shorter side on the front of the card.  Just a little something to give more eye appeal.
