Triangle Fold-Over Card in Highland Heather & Green

Annie’s Ink-Lings

Making fancy fold cards is one of my favorite techniques.  This card is one I'm teaching to my class next Tuesday.  The gals always love to learn new fancy folds, so it should be a fun class for them.  I embossed the little green PT circle which gave it a nice textured look. The colors are bright and cheerful - just the right thing for a spring card. The rainbow jewels really reflect the colors of the green and highland heather.  Take a look.

You can make two cards from a single 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of card stock.  Basically, it is cut in half diagonally, the top flap folds down and the left flap is folded to the right.   See the scoring directions below before you cut the card stock.

Cutting Dimensions and Directions
1. Green cardstock base is 8 1/2″ x 11″. Score the cardstock in half in both directions – 5 1/2″ and 4 1/4″. Cut the green cardstock in half on the diagonal. This will produce two scored and cut cards.

2. Designer Paper is cut 4″ x 5 ¼″. Cut on the diagonal. If your pattern paper has a direction you will have to adapt the flaps to accommodate.
(Cut a coordinating Designer Paper for the upper flap if you want contrast.)

3. White cardstock inside layer is cut 4″ x 5 1/4″

4. Emboss green DP with Houndstooth EF. Die cut one 1 ¼” circle from it.

5. Die cut 2 circles from white cardstock, 1 ¾” and 2”.

6. Die cut 3 scalloped circles from lavender cardstock, 1 ¼”, 2”, and 2 3/8”. Cut three sizes in one color for the backing layer.

7. With green card base, fold the left flap over to the right along the score line. Fold the top flap down to match the left flap. Use bone folder.

8. Attach the DP triangle to the top of the left folded-over green triangle.

9. Attach the white cardstock panel to inside of card.

10. Stamp sentiment on 2” white circle.

11. Stamp flowers on 1 ¾” white circle. Color flowers all over with Light Highland Heather, then highlight with Dark Highland Heather; color leaves with Copic Marker Acid Green YG07.

12. Glue all the die cuts together as shown on card and arrange on card front.

13. Tie a green twine bow and glue in place or use a glue dot.

14. When the card is closed, the bottom of the large circle slips under the top of the medium circle to keep the card closed.
