Hidden Popup Card

Annie’s Ink-Lings

Long before the time I spent living on Samish Island in Washington State, I had developed a love of all things pertaining to the sea - sea shells, sea gulls, beaches, boats, the sound of fog horns from the barges that passed by.  So when I came across a sea-themed card made by Chantelle Pridgeon, I just had to give it a go.  You can see her card here, with directions to the original.  It's really a great design and so pretty.  I made my card a little different, so I have added my measurements below.  Here is my version.

These next pictures of the open card reveal the the first popup.

This picture shows the second popup.

And finally some small popups, one on each side of the second popup.

I love Graphic 45 paper, so the Call of the Sea paper pad was the perfect choice.  Even though there are a lot of paper pieces to cut, I had so much fun making this card. Now I'm excited to make another one except to use regular decorative papers and my own stamped images.

Measurements
1.  White base 6"x 12", score at 6".
2.  First DP panel 5 3/4" x 5 3/4" (cut 4, one for card back)
3.  Second DP panel 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" (cut 4, one for card back)
4.  White base popup panel 6" x 6", score at 3", then turn and score at 3" again.  Turn panel and score once diagonally from tip to tip.
5.  Small blue panel 2 7/8" x 2 7/8" (cut 4); cut 2 of them diagonally.
6.  For the striped paper cut 2 at 2 1/2" x 2 1/2", the cut each one diagonally.
7.  Note Panel 2 3/4" x 5 1/2" (cut 2), fold in half.
8.  White panels for stamped image and sentiment 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" (cut 2)
9.  Popup hinge for note 1/2" x 4", score at 1", 2", and 3"

If you have any questions, please let me know.  Thanks for taking the time to look at my card.

Happy Valentine's Day Card

Annie’s Ink-Lings

I just finished this Valentine card just in time to enter the hearts/stars Paper Players Theme Challenge #527 and the pink and brown Cards 4 Galz Challenge #140.

I've always loved the colors of pink and brown together, so this was a really enjoyable card to make.  And what's not to love about hearts!  I used the lovely Stampin' Up stamps and dies called Meant to Be and Be Mine Stitched Framelits.  The hearts in these sets are soooo pretty.  Take a look at my card:

I stamped the sentiment on a piece of white card stock then die cut it using a die from the Penny Black Antique Frames die set.

Wishing you all a Happy Valentine's Day with your significant other.

Blessings,
Annie

Masculine Anniversary Card

Annie’s Ink-Lings

It's hard to believe that 36 years have gone by already since I married my wonderful husband.  Both of us being golfers, it's no surprise that we met on a golf course one summer day.  Now, even happier than the day we married!  I have made several golf themed cards for him over the years, so I wanted to do something different this time.  And definitely with no frills for this guy.  The peaceful scene on this card is just the right thing that he will enjoy.

I brushed the color onto the white heart using my Picket Fence Studio blending brushes.  The colors used are Distress Inks - Stormy Sky, Shaded Lilac, and Gathered Twigs.  I was really happy with how nicely the colors blended together.  The sentiment flag is mounted with foam tape.

Toile Winter Card

Annie’s Ink-Lings

I just noticed that my Chinese Red Bud tree is bursting out with flower buds and it suddenly gave me spring fever.  So, I'm thinking this might be my last winter theme card.

I love this toile paper that I purchased from Scrapbook.com.  It brings back memories of my childhood days during the winter months.  A slimline card is just the thing to showcase this beautiful paper.

I like the look of the small tag mounted horizontally between the two images because it draws attention to the long vertical tag.  A little acrylic dot placed on each of the images gives a bit of dimension to the card.

I didn't have a sentiment the size I wanted so I used my computer to make one.  I like the larger size to help fill the white space of the slimline card.  Also, to give some color to the inside of the card, I place a strip of the dotted card stock on the left side of the sentiment.  A nice finishing touch, I think.  Measurements and info below.

Supplies
White Card Base White - 7” x 8 1/2”; on the 7” side, score at 3 ½”.
White Panel Layer - 3 3/8” x 8 3/8”
Red with White Dots Banner DSP - 2” x 8 ½”; use Stampin' Up Banner Triple
     Punch on the end
Red with White Dots Strip for inside card - 1 1/8” x 9” (will need to trim end to
     fit inside sentiment panel)
Computer generated sentiment: Everything is More Fun With a Friend!
Stampin’ Up Snow Place Stamp Set “Let It Snow!” #139738
Stampin' Up Corrugated Embossing Folder

Tim Holtz Stitched Circles Dies #662229

Directions
1. Stamp the Let it Snow in red on the white card stock strip. Trim to fit the red
     label.
2. Glue the Decorative Paper circles onto the red die cut circles.
3. Run the white panel through a corrugated roller tool if you choose.  If you
corrugate the white panel, you will need to trim the card base 1/8”.
Also trim the dotted panel 1/8”.
4. Adhere all the pieces to the card base as shown on the sample.
5. Adhere narrow dotted strip to left side of sentiment panel before adhering the
     panel inside card base.
6. Hand punch two ½” circles from red card stock. Glue one on each of the
Decorative Paper circles. Glue a red crystal on each one.

Thanks for viewing my card.

Annie
